TENSION & TRAUMA RELEASING EXERCISES (TRE®)

TRE® is a body-based practice that helps release the deeply held muscular and fascial patterns of stress, tension, and trauma that can build up over time. It recognises that the impacts of chronic stress and trauma are not just psychological; they are also stored in the body.

Through a series of simple exercises, you will learn to activate a natural tremor (shaking) response to release these patterns in an intentional and controlled way. This innate, inbuilt recovery process helps calm the nervous system and return the body and mind to a state of natural coherence and alignment.

TRE® can make a difference from the first session. Most people feel calmer, more grounded, and sleep better. As with anything, the more you practice, the more significant the benefits. Over time, you might notice improvements to your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, including:

Please note that if you have a history of PTSD or complex/developmental trauma, it is advisable to work on a 1:2:1 basis. TRE® works well as part of an integrative approach, including talk therapy.
